Pearl Jam, a Seattle-based rock band, has added more dates to their enormous global tour to fulfil unprecedented demand following the launch of their highly anticipated twelfth studio album, 'Dark Matter'.

"Pearl Jam's 'Dark Matter' Tour Expands Globally"

More than 40,000 eager ticket buyers rushed to Ticketmaster Friday morning, just as Live Nation announced new tour dates in Melbourne for Monday, November 18, and Saturday, November 23 in Sydney.

The renowned band will return to Australia in 2024, after a ten-year sabbatical since their farewell performance at the 2014 Big Day Out festival. They will go on a nine-country, 25-city tour that will begin in May at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Australian/New Zealand leg of the tour begins in Auckland on November 8th, followed by Gold Coast on November 13th, Melbourne on November 16th, and Sydney on November 21st. With no Adelaide date established yet, this fuels suspicion that Pearl Jam would headline this year's VAILO 500 After-Race Concert.

Pearl Jam's special guests on this tour in Australia are Boston indie rock giants Pixies, who are returning after over 20 years since their previous visit.

The new album, 'Dark Matter,' which will be released on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on April 19, 2024, promises to be a game changer for the band. The title tune is now available for those who want a taste of what's to come. It's created by multi-GRAMMY® award-winning producer Andrew Watt and follows the critically acclaimed album Gigaton (2020).

The tracklist for 'Dark Matter' contains names such as 'Scared of Fear', 'Wreckage', and 'Running', as well as the new single 'Dark Matter', demonstrating that the band is staying true to their identity while still exploring new sounds.

During a listening party at the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood during GRAMMY® week, Vedder commented, 'I'm feeling chills because I have nice memories. We are still looking for ways to communicate.

Bassist Jeff Ament expressed thanks for Watt's extensive understanding of the band's history, which helped the record stay true to its roots.

'He has encyclopaedic knowledge of our past, not only as a band and how we wrote songs, but also as players,' Ament claims. 'He could point out things we performed on old songs to the point where I was like, "What the f**k is he talking about?"

Pearl Jam, with over 85 million records sold and seminal albums like 'Ten', is no stranger to the spotlight. Their debut album is still considered a totemic classic of the grunge period, and expectations for 'Dark Matter' are sky-high, with Vedder boldly declaring it their best work yet.

'We're at a point in our life when you could or could not do it, but we still want to put something out there that is meaningful, and we hope it's our best work. "No hyperbole, I believe this is our best work," remarked Vedder.
